What to expect during your appointment

Get ready to experience one of the most thrilling moments in your home-building journey: the day has finally arrived to bring your unique vision to life through your interior selections!

We’re excited to guide you through the process of selecting all the interior elements that will make your new home uniquely yours. To ensure you have a smooth and enjoyable experience, we wanted to provide you with some important information and reminders for the big day.

Appointment Scheduling:

Approximately 4-6 weeks in advance, our Design team will reach out to you to schedule your Choices Appointment. These appointments are typically booked on weekdays from 9am to 5pm.

Plan for a Full Day:

Your Choices Appointment is an important step in creating your dream home, and it’s best to set aside a full day for this experience. While some appointments may finish sooner, we recommend preparing to spend the entire day at our studio. The more prepared you are, the smoother the process will be.

Making Arrangements:

To make the most of your appointment, we suggest making any necessary arrangements with your employer and/or childcare services to ensure you have the day free to focus on your selections.

Take a Break on Us!

We understand that the day can be overwhelming, so we’d like to show our appreciation by offering you a gift card for lunch at a local eatery. Take a well-deserved break and enjoy a delicious meal on us!

Payment Options:

If you decide to add any upgrades during your Choices Appointment, a 50% deposit will be due within one week of your appointment. We accept payment via credit, debit, or cheque. Our team will provide you with all the necessary details and assistance to make the payment process hassle-free.

What to Expect:

During your appointment, we will guide you through the selection process for various interior elements, including cabinetry, countertops, flooring, wall tiles, doors, hardware, interior trim, paint colors, fireplace features, plumbing fixtures, and more. Our expert team will be there every step of the way to offer their guidance, insights, and expertise to ensure you make choices that align with your vision and preferences.


What if I want to make changes to my selections after
the appointment?

We understand that after some thought, you may decide to make a change to one (or more) of your selections. We allow two weeks post-appointment for homeowners to make changes to their selections. Any change requests after this timeframe must be directed to your Area Sales Manager (ASM). Your ASM will submit your “Late Change Request” to our General Manager for approval. Approval is based on status of construction and/or status of your original selections order. All approved “Late Changes” are subject to a $150 administrative fee.

Can I bring additional family members, friends, or Realtors
to my appointment?

As the day can be overwhelming, with many decisions to be made, we recommend that only those listed on the Purchase Agreement attend. In cases where there is only one purchaser, we ask that you limit attendees to one guest.

How can I pay for my upgrades on my mortgage?

Please ask your Area Sales Manager about the option to add a “Choices Allowance” into your purchase agreement as a credit for any upgrades you may wish to choose during your Choices by Design appointment.

What are the most common upgrades?

Most common upgrades are commonly associated with cabinetry including: upgrading to painted wood, additional pot & pan drawers, garbage pull-outs, and adding stacked cabinetry.

Upgraded quartz colours are also extremely popular choices.

What is the average amount people spend during
an appointment?

In our Design Centre the average homeowner typically spends approximately $11,000 in interior upgrades during their Choices appointment.
